Urban Fabric Integration: As Project Architect, I was part of the team that designed a mixed-use development that knits into the existing neighborhood fabric, offering a pedestrian-friendly oasis in midtown Atlanta. I was involved in the facade design and modeling of the podium at the street corner as well as the production of construction documents.
Refining the Street Edge: The facade design of the parking structure is a conscious attempt to not only screen the utilitarian function of the building but also to enhance the street corner. By treating the parking envelope as a sculptural element, the design contributes to a more engaging pedestrian experience and a better-defined urban corner.
Public Engagement & Social Space: Working with local artists, the facade has become a hotspot for the community for photography and social media, activating the street corner.
Pedestrian-Focused Site Integration: The design of the public pedestrian paths includes carefully selected paving materials and custom site furniture, creating a high-quality and accessible urban environment that prioritizes pedestrian comfort and connects the project to the midtown community.
Downtown Mixed-Use Synergies: The project integrates diverse programs to respond to the high-density requirements of a busy downtown area. By combining office, residential, and hotel functions, the design creates a multi-purpose urban hub that thrives on the constant movement and varied needs of its users, ensuring a vibrant and resilient presence in the heart of the city.
